Chipotle

So... I've never been one for cravings, but lately I really would like a Chipotle Chicken Burrito. I'm a 5 hr drive from the closest one. Anyone interested in overnighting me one?

Supplies

I found a great resource for those of you who are still making models and such.

It's in Boston called Charrette. They are like an enormous Costco-Posners! Without the crochety-croak of a smoker, which I know you all miss.

www.charrette.com

They've everything from old-school drafting to office supplies with pretty decent prices too.

more child names

so the big debate at lunch today was who would win a battle between gandalf and yoda.
any wagers?

Tributes to CAPLA

I appreciate all of the ideas for names, but I don't think that I want to look at my child and see the faces of past professors. Ignacio? Ew.

We were thinking more along the lines of Eva Blake or Rafe William.

But we'll take any suggestions. We are also starting a poll of boy or girl and which day I'll deliver. Let me know what you think and I'll add you to the list.

happy birthday, you jolly old man.

My commute

No News like Good News!

After an excellent chat with my dear friend Wyatt yesterday, I've decided that all of you should know too...

I'm pregnant! We are expecting our baby by Dec. 15th!

I know that this is where most of you will roll your eyes back in your head in mocking reactions. But you all know me and know that ultimately this is what I've wanted in life. I'd rather do my architecture from the comfort of my house than the office anyway.

All is well, I'm getting increasingly rotund and really enjoying my life.

And yes. Wes is my idea of a superhero too. Suppose that we could get him to dress up and post his pic on the blog?

BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN

After seeing the new superman trailer at the movies this weekend I wanted to see who most people perfer.

Who is the better superhero? SUPERMAN or BATMAN.

And feel free to explain.

( personally think the Hulk would trash them both........but you know that's just me)

Is there anything architects don't do...

Is there anything Frank Gehry can do? Jewelry and Movies, no problem, next he will take over the world...

Who dropped the ball?

I don't know who to blame? What happened to the UA dynasty that had been developed over the past couple of years.... clearly there is a lower quality of individual in architecture school this year. Who else could we blame? Alvaro? yeah. right.

Cincinatti wins 5of6

Fish fish

Hey Jessica, it seems your next door neighbor Salinas, CA has been found to be the most expensive place to live in the country, according to the NYT. But I'm sure you knew that already...
Sorry I missed you in town this weekend, maybe I can come up to visit you and we can go to a soup kitchen together!

pedal-philes invade nyc!

if you flip thru them quickly it's like a mini tour of the city. if you do this outside your office bathroom while your colleagues go outside and honk their horns indiscriminately, it'll be like you are here!

GO WIL!! Do it for your Mutha!

Check out The house Wil Peterson did for his mom. I remember in 2nd year when he was designing it. It is a nice project. Good job, Wilson!

feliz cinco de mayo a ti

"Why didn't the U of A choose an architect who is familiar with the Sonoran Desert, or better yet, who graduated from the U of A College of Architecture? This feels like a slap in the face to the citizens in this community. How much is this costing the taxpayers?"

Be glad that U of A isnt your client.

I say that we lobby for Meeks to drop his flapping dermis over the wash.

Return trip home

Any one interested in moving back to the desert, starting up a firm of our own, play with dirt (doug?) and found objects, eat cheap tacos and cheap beer, enlist folan and trumble as partners and be blissfully happy to be working for ourself, dirt poor and not in corporate america?

accounting software poll

What software does your firm use to track your hours. Meeks let me guess something along the lines of blinfolded cash grabs at the end of the week?

self-effacing post of the day,

everyone was all a-buzz about this today...

buy any good books lately?

Now that I'm making some 'real' money, (as in enough to have a respectable level of shelter, food, and clothing) I've started to allot $80 a month to building my architecture library. So I was thinking that everyone should list their top 5 architecture books based on utility, precedence, and of course, sweet-sweet pi(c)tures.
