get your kicks in 2006

So, I'm still here, in sunny LA. I only log onto this thing at work, so I don't ever have photos to show. For the holidays I was in Chicago in the not so bitter cold. They were having a heat wave apparently, allowing for cool upper 30's to low 40's most of the time I was there. There were literally people in shorts and t-shirts for this, I couldn't believe it. Finally made it to the IIT campus, there was no one there, but the door was unlocked. Snapped a few shots inside Mies' glass box and bolted for fear of being tazed by an over zealous security guard. I also made it to the Museum of Contemporary Art, the one Folan spoke so highly of. I'm going to try and make it there each time I go to the windy city, there's usually some pretty cool stuff there. I finally saw a Dan Flavin piece, and some originals of Cindy Sherman's Film Stills which I had researched for Capstone. Went to a New Pornographers concert for New Year's, flyin solo, which I'm getting used to. My grandmother turned 80, so there was a big party for that. Now I'm back in downtown LA, slaving away. Currently trying to clean up drawings we r'cvd from someone using Vectorworks to use in ACAD. So very messy. I think we're going to try and do a competition soon...I found one that I think Doug would be interested in:
cart shelter
Starting to plan for my trip to Europe in August. Three weeks backpacking alone, should be quite a learning experience. So that's about it...oh, did someone say music?
Album / Artist
Tyt Tak / EU
New World Observer / Dead Beat
Timbuktu / Issa Bagayogo
Riverrun Project / Underworld (download from their website:
The Loving Sounds of Static / The Mobius Band
Let me know if anyone is interested in Coachella this year...I think it's supposed to be Depeche Mode and the White Stripes headlining....
Oh yeah, just in case somebody hasn't seen this yet:
The Chronic-cles of Narnia
Great stuff
keep on keepin on

It was pretty cool, it was his "alternating pink and 'gold'" piece. Here's a partial photo:
There were photo nazis everywhere otherwise I would have snapped a few. I had planned on coming back to it after I went through everything else, but I ended up leaving. D'oh! I'd recommend going to see the Tropicana exhibit they have up now also, Latin American stuff from '67-'72.
